Welcome to BBQ Season – Here’s How to Make it Sizzle!

Everybody loves a barbecue. And lucky for meat lovers in the Coachella Valley, barbecue season lasts a whole lot longer. With sunny days upon us, it’s time to get your barbecue out of hibernation.

Here are some tips before inviting friends over to join in on the carnivorous celebrations:

Grab your cleaning supplies.  You wouldn’t cook in a dirty kitchen, would you? Sanitize and deep clean your grill. You’ll need cleaning gloves, a brass wire brush, bowl of hot water, dish soap, glass cleaner, venture brush, stainless steel cleaner, a spatula and paper towels.

Clean the grill. Start with the outside and of course, make sure the lid is cool. Wash the exterior with warm, soapy water. Rinse and wipe dry. For stainless steel parts, wipe with a stainless steel cleaner and cloth.

Next, clean the inside of the lid. Brush the carbonized grease with a stainless steel grill brush.  Wash with warm soapy water and rinse. Next, brush the bars and grates with your stainless steel grill brush. Then wipe clean with soapy water and a cloth.

Then take the grates out of the grill and clean each burner tube individually.  Take your grill brush and move in an up and down motion. Don’t brush length wise across the ports.  Then you’ll want to scrape the remaining dried grease from the bottom of the BBQ and remove the bottom tray from under the grill and clean with warm soapy water.

Or, if you’re in the market for a new grill, you’ll want to add the Big Green Egg to your list of barbecues to look at. The EGG is more than your average BBQ; it acts as a grill, an oven and a smoker!

The Big Green Egg bakes pizza, casseroles and bread, because it retains heat and moisture so that your food doesn’t dry out. The EGG has several patented components and state-of-the-art ceramic devices help with keeping your outdoor cooking device last longer.

  • Simple to start
  • Precise temperature control
